How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Quick answer

Choose the PDF, pick how to split it, and press Split. To keep only some pages, choose "Extract pages into one PDF" and type them, for example 1-3, 5. To get every page as its own file, choose "Every page as its own PDF". Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and quality does not change.

  1. Choose or drop the PDF.
  2. Pick a split mode and type page numbers if needed (e.g. 2-4, 7).
  3. Press Split and download the new PDF, or all files as a ZIP.

Ways to split

Extract pages from a PDF

Page ranges accept single pages (4), ranges (2-6) and open ranges (8- means page 8 to the end). Separate them with commas. Pages come out in the order you type them, so 5, 1 puts page 5 first.

Splitting to fit an upload size limit

Portals with a size limit per file (for example 2 MB per upload) sometimes need a long scan sent in parts. This tool splits by pages, not by megabytes, so do it in two quick steps: split with Every N pages (start with 5), then check each part; if one is still too big, run it through compress PDF to 1 MB or 500 KB. Scanned pages are roughly the same size each, so equal page counts give similar file sizes.

Split into two files, or into images

To cut a PDF into two halves, choose Each range as a separate PDF and type 1-10, 11-. If you need the pages as pictures rather than PDFs (for WhatsApp or an image-only form), use PDF to PNG, which turns each page into a PNG or JPG.
