How do I resize my signature to 10–20 KB?

Quick answer

Sign on plain white paper with a black or blue pen, take a photo, crop it close to the signature and drop it here. Pick the 10–20 KB preset and press Resize. The tool whitens the paper, keeps the entire signature inside the frame and saves a JPG between 10 and 20 KB.

  1. Sign on white paper with a dark pen and photograph it in good light.
  2. Choose the preset for your form (SSC, IBPS, PAN) or type your own KB range.
  3. Press Resize and download the signature JPG.

How to photograph a signature that resizes well

SSC signature size: 4×2 cm or 6×2 cm?

You will find two sizes quoted for SSC signatures. Many resizer sites list 4.0 × 2.0 cm (about 140 × 60 px), while coverage of recent SSC CGL notices lists 6.0 × 2.0 cm. Both agree on a JPG between 10 and 20 KB. The size that counts is the one printed in the notice you are applying under, so open it before you resize.

Use the SSC · 6×2 cm preset when your notice says 6 × 2 cm, and the plain SSC · 10–20 KB preset when the notice only gives a file size. Both keep the whole signature on a white background.

Signature size in cm and pixels

Forms give sizes either in centimetres or in pixels. To convert, multiply centimetres by the DPI and divide by 2.54. The table shows the common signature sizes:

Signature sizeAt 100 DPIAt 200 DPI
4 × 2 cm157 × 79 px315 × 157 px
6 × 2 cm (SSC CGL notices)236 × 79 px472 × 157 px
4.5 × 2 cm (PAN, NSDL)177 × 79 px354 × 157 px
140 × 60 px (IBPS)about 3.6 × 1.5 cm at 100 DPI

Type the pixel numbers under Dimensions, DPI and background, or pick a preset that already has them.

Signature Resize FAQs

Why is my signature rejected even though it is under 20 KB?

Portals often check a minimum size and the pixel dimensions too. Use a preset with a minimum (10–20 KB) and, if the form lists pixels such as 140×60, type them in so the file matches exactly.

Can I use a scanned signature?

Yes. A scan works well; the "make paper background pure white" option removes the grey tint scanners often leave.

Will it crop my signature?

No. Signature presets fit the whole image inside the frame and fill the leftover space with white.

Do you keep a copy of my signature?

No copy exists outside your device. The resizing runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How do I get the signature under 10 KB?

Choose the PAN (NSDL) preset or type 10 as the maximum. Crop close to the signature first; the smaller the empty area, the easier it is to stay under 10 KB without blurring the ink.

What is the standard signature size in pixels for exam forms?

Bank exams such as IBPS commonly ask for 140 × 60 pixels and 10–20 KB. SSC notices give the size in centimetres. Always use the numbers in your own notice.

Can I resize a signature in centimetres?

Yes. Convert centimetres to pixels (cm × DPI ÷ 2.54), or pick the SSC 6×2 cm or PAN 4.5×2 cm preset, which set the pixels and 200 DPI for you.

How do I remove the grey shadow from a phone photo of my signature?

Keep "Make paper background pure white" ticked. It turns the grey paper white and darkens the ink. Taking the photo in daylight without your phone's shadow helps too.
