The short version
To convert a JPG to PDF: drop your image into the box at the top of this page, pick a page size (A4, Letter, Legal, or fit-to-image), and press convert. You get a PDF in about three seconds. No account, no email, no watermark, and the file never leaves your device. To merge several JPGs into one PDF, add them all and drag them into the order you want before converting.
What jpgtopdf actually is
A JPG goes in. A PDF comes out. That is the whole job, and this page does it without making a meal of it.
jpgtopdf is the name people type when they want to turn a photo or a scan into a PDF — for a college form, a rent receipt, a warranty claim, the photo of a whiteboard you swore you would deal with later. Most of the time you do not need software for that. You need a box to drop an image into and a button that says convert. This is that box.
Use it as a jpg to pdf converter online for a single photo, or to merge jpg to pdf from a dozen images into one tidy document. Pick jpg to pdf high quality when the print matters, or squeeze the file down when an upload form has a 2 MB limit and very strong opinions about it. The whole thing runs in your browser, which has two pleasant side effects: it is instant, and your files stay on your machine.
How to convert JPG to PDF
Four steps. None of them involve creating an account or reading a 14-point cookie notice first.
Add your images
Drag and drop, pick from the gallery, or take a photo there and then. JPG, JPEG and PNG all work.
Put them in order
Adding more than one image? Drag the thumbnails into the order you want. Page one stays page one.
Choose page size and quality
A4, Letter, Legal, or fit-to-image. Turn compression up if a form has a strict size limit.
Convert and download
Press convert. The PDF lands in about three seconds. Download it, or send it straight to WhatsApp.
Why this converter never uploads your files
Here is the part most converters do not put on the homepage. When you use the big-name tools, your image gets uploaded to their server, converted there, and then — they promise — deleted within an hour. Very reassuring. Slightly less reassuring when the thing you are converting is your Aadhaar card, a bank statement, or a passport scan.
jpgtopdf works the other way round. The conversion happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your file is never sent to a server, because there is nothing to send it to. No "deleted after 60 minutes" countdown, because it never arrived anywhere in the first place. The honest version of "your files are safe with us" is "we never touch your files."
A useful side effect: it is fast. There is no upload bar creeping across the screen and no download wait at the end. The slowest part is you deciding which photo goes first.
Made for the phone in your hand
Most people converting a JPG to PDF are doing it on a phone, usually because someone official asked for a PDF in the next ten minutes. So the tool assumes that. Tap the camera button to photograph a document on the spot, or pull one straight from your gallery. The buttons are sized for thumbs, not mouse pointers.
When the PDF is ready you can send it straight to WhatsApp, which is where roughly half of these documents are headed anyway. No saving to Downloads, hunting through your file manager, then attaching it. Convert, share, done.
It also works with the internet switched off. Add it to your home screen once and it installs as an app, which means the next conversion happens on the train, in the basement of a government office, or anywhere else the signal goes to die.
Aadhaar, PAN and passport, without the guesswork
Official documents have unwritten rules. A KYC portal wants your Aadhaar clear and under a certain size. A tax form wants your PAN card legible. A visa application has Opinions about passport photos. Getting it slightly wrong means doing the whole upload again.
So there are presets for the documents people convert most. Pick Aadhaar, PAN card, passport photo or driving licence, and the page size and quality are set to what those forms usually expect. You can still override everything. The preset just means you are not guessing at 11pm the night before a deadline.
jpgtopdf vs a typical online converter
Honest version. The rows where it is genuinely different, and the rows where everyone is the same.
When this is not the right tool
A converter that tells you when to use something else is rarer than it should be, so here it is. Skip this tool if:
- You need to edit the words inside the document. This turns a picture into a PDF. It does not read the text. If you want a PDF you can search or copy from, you want OCR, and a dedicated tool will do it better.
- You are converting a 400-page scanned book. The browser will manage a big batch, but somewhere past a few hundred high-resolution pages a desktop app is the saner choice. No shame in the right tool for the job.
- Your file is a PDF already and you want it smaller. That is a compress-PDF job, not a convert job. Different button, different page.
For everything else — a photo, a scan, a stack of receipts, an ID card that needs to be a PDF in the next two minutes — this is the box and that is the button.
Questions people actually ask
How do I convert a JPG to PDF for free?
Drop your image into the box at the top of this page, choose a page size, and press convert. The PDF is ready in about three seconds. It is free with no catch: no account, no watermark, no "upgrade to download" wall at the end.
How do I combine multiple JPGs into one PDF?
Add all the images at once. They show up as thumbnails you can drag into order. When you convert, they become one PDF, one image per page, in exactly the order you set. Handy for a multi-page form or both sides of an ID card.
Does converting a JPG to PDF reduce the quality?
Only if you ask it to. Set the quality to high and the image goes into the PDF looking the same as it came out of your camera. The medium and high-compression options trade a little sharpness for a smaller file, which is what you want when an upload form has a size limit.
Is it safe to convert a JPG to PDF online?
With this tool, yes, because nothing goes online. The conversion runs inside your browser, so your image is never uploaded to a server. Other converters send your file away and delete it later. This one never sends it at all. For an Aadhaar card or a bank statement, that difference matters.
How do I convert a JPG to PDF on my phone?
The same way you would on a laptop, except you can also tap the camera button to photograph a document on the spot. Works on Android and iPhone, no app from a store required. There is also a dedicated mobile JPG to PDF converter with bigger buttons and WhatsApp sharing built in.
Which file formats can I use?
JPG, JPEG and PNG go in, and you can mix them in a single batch. A PDF comes out every time, readable on any device that can open a PDF, which is all of them.
My PDF is too big for the form. How do I shrink it?
Set compression to high and convert again. You do not need to re-add your images, so it takes a couple of seconds to try a smaller version. Most forms that reject a file want it under 1 to 2 MB, and high compression usually gets you there.
Can I convert Aadhaar, PAN or passport photos?
Yes, and there are presets for exactly those. They set sensible page size and quality for Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, passport photos and driving licences, so you are not eyeballing the settings the night before a deadline.
Does it work without internet?
Once the page has loaded, yes. Add it to your home screen and it installs as an app you can open offline. Since the conversion never needed a server, losing signal changes nothing.
