How to take a good passport photo with a phone
- Stand about half a metre in front of a plain white or light-coloured wall.
- Face the light (a window works) so there are no shadows on your face or the wall.
- Ask someone to take the photo at eye level, about 1.5 m away, rather than a close selfie that distorts the face.
- Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression; no cap or dark glasses.
Printing the sheet
Print the PDF or JPG sheet with the printer set to 100% / Actual size, not "Fit to page", so each photo measures exactly 3.5 × 4.5 cm. Glossy photo paper gives the best result; photo shops can print the 4×6 inch sheet for a few rupees.
